Nora McNamara, MD, is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist from Cleveland, Ohio. Since 1999 she has been involved in clinical research to develop new treatments for ADHD, Autism, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and trauma-related presentations in children, adolescents, and adults. In 2009-2010 she took the AMI Elementary training during a sabbatical (HMTI #4). Since 2012 she has been the principal investigator for the Discovery and Wellness Center For Children, the research arm of the Department of Psychiatry at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. When there is not a worldwide pandemic, she spends Monday mornings at Stonebrook Montessori School, the Montessori campus of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District teaching handwork to the Upper Elementary students while allegedly also supervising the CAP fellows, General Psychiatry residents, and any medical students from Case Western Reserve University interested in the Neurotypical Child Observation experience. When it is a worldwide pandemic, she sees her clinical and research patients from her kitchen via Zoom while wearing pajama bottoms and drinking excellent coffee, and has a home-based Tiny Montessori for her 3yo and 5yo nephews and 2yo niece, until their schools open up again. Dr. Mac, or sometimes called Dr. Macadocious by her funnier adolescent patients, has two grown daughters. Brynna is an AMI elementary Guide at a local small Montessori school, and Fiona is currently a student at the Ohio State University.
