Have the child read the label, place it in the environment, and return.
Repeat so the child/ren has several turns.
When complete, ask the child to pick up all the labels.
Show the children the prepared labels are on the shelf for independent work.
Extensions: All will need prepared labels for independent work

Labels for the names within a particular exercise.
Labels for a particular classification.

Pedagogical Notes:
The children should have experience with all these items through the Spoken Language Enrichment of Vocabulary: Parts and Objects of the Environment exercise. The child revisits this work through the lens of reading. They love the familiarity this offers and love to read about things they know.
Always handwrite for the presentation and use the printed cards for the independent work.
Rotate several packets of labels. This keeps the children coming back looking for something new.
Other students can always help a child who needs support reading a word.
